Today, June 9, a working meeting was held in the hall of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan (NAST) with the participation of the President of the Academy, Academician Khushvakhtzoda Kobiljon Khushvakht.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan has officially passed international institutional accreditation, receiving a positive conclusion from the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR)—one of the leading accreditation agencies in the region, recognized in Europe.

It was noted that this decision was made during the IAAR Accreditation Council meeting held on February 12, 2025 (Protocol No. 92), based on the conclusion of the External Expert Commission. As part of a comprehensive assessment, all key areas of the Academy's activity were analyzed, including the development of educational programs, scientific research, digitalization, and international mobility.

IAAR is a member of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) and is a registered participant in the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR), confirming the international recognition of its standards.

It is important to note that in the practice of the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating, accrediting an institution such as an Academy of Sciences—given its fundamental scientific orientation—is a unique event and is being conducted for the first time.

The agency recommended that the Academy strengthen its efforts in the areas of academic mobility, implementation of innovative teaching methods, expansion of scientific cooperation, transparency in educational programs, and digital transformation.

IAAR Director General, Ms. Alina Zhumagulova, emphasized that successfully passing international accreditation demonstrates NAST’s high potential and its readiness for international partnerships and participation in global scientific initiatives.

This significant achievement will open new opportunities for the Academy in terms of international recognition, attracting foreign partners, and generating new scientific projects. It will also strengthen Tajikistan’s position within the global scientific and educational community.
